‘My Life as a Cold War Spy’

(aka From Beaconsfield to Berlin)

A very entertaining and informative talk given by Major General Peter Williams CMG OBE about, as the title suggests, the period of his military service when he was a ‘spy’. Curiously, the story begins in Beaconsfield.

Peter is very kindly donating his time and energy to our cause – Street Kids Direct – the charity run by Duncan Dyason, whom many of you will know from within the Parish and/or Duncan’s wider work for the charity in and around Amersham.  100% of the proceeds will be going to Street Kids Direct and the event will also be sponsored by Café Africa.

Tickets at £5 per person are available fromDavid & Jo Robinson

Quiz Night Ad

A quiz night for the whole family. Our fun, lively and interactive quiz nights have been popular for many years because anyone from any age and ability can get involved and enjoy a great evening.

Our theme this year is THE MOVIES and so all the rounds will be based on either movie knowledge or movie observation. You might even gain extra points for your team if you can come dressed as a movie character or reinact a great movie scene!

Spaces are limted so book early!

Tables of 8 are available so please do try and invite friends to come on your table to make up 8 people or join another table on the evening. Each table will chose a team name and then compete with others to win the incredible and much sought after Family Quiz Night trophy of 2016.

A licensed bar will be available plus LIVE music, a raffle and a few surprises. Our host this year is the famous MARTIN HUGHES.

A meal will be provided by the award-winning Joanna Soden. Please consider bringing along a home-made desert for 8 people and then these will be sold during the meal.

We look forward to updating you on our work in Central America and will be hearing from Peter Rushforth, recently retired Head of Heatherton House School, who will tell us about his experiences in Guatemala recently.

More information call 01494 858470.

All proceeds will go directly to help make a difference in the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children in Latin America.
