ondumpA team of young people accompanied by a small group of adults left the UK to Honduras late July.

The team, headed up by Dunc and Matt (trustees of Street Kids Direct) will be running a week-long programme of special activities, crafts and sports for the children who attend the AFE School.

Sadly British Airlines cancelled the flight the team were supposed to be going on yesterday but are hopeful that they will fly today and then connect to their Honduras flight when they arrive in Miami.

The AFE School works exclusively with the children who work on the city rubbish dump and so it will be a stark week for the team of volunteers from the UK who have never experienced anything like this before.

Street Kids Direct are hoping that the specialist activities will give the school a glimpse of new ways of working with children and explore with Dunc a business proposal for the school that could generate much needed funds.
