Award Recognises 15 Years of Partnership with Go Guatemala

Street Kids Direct founder and director, Duncan Dyason MBE, was honoured this week with a special award presented by Pastor Alex Mendez in recognition of more than 15 years of support for the work of Go Guatemala in Zone 18 of Guatemala City.

For the past 17 years, Go Guatemala has been working in one of the city’s most challenging communities, providing safe spaces, education, mentoring and practical support for children and young people growing up surrounded by poverty, violence and the constant threat of gang recruitment.

Street Kids Direct has been privileged to walk alongside Go Guatemala for more than 15 of those years, helping support its work and sharing its commitment to preventing vulnerable children from being drawn into gangs and street life.

Receiving the award, Duncan said it represented much more than his own contribution:

“This award really belongs to everyone who has stood with us over the years and made it possible for us to support the incredible work of Go Guatemala. It is a privilege to work alongside Alex and his team and to see the difference they are making in the lives of children and families in Zone 18.”
